The Henry Conard Land

Originally, the land was owned by Hugh Jones, who sold the land of 200 acres to William Roberts in 1728. The land covered the southwestern corner in the Sandy Hill section in Whitpain. After William Roberts's death, his son Joseph Roberts sold 50 acres of land to Henry Conard while keeping the remaining 150 acres for his son Jacob Roberts.

There were three homes built on the property in Whitpain, but they were built at different times. The most recent home was built in 1808 by Henry Conard's son Peter Conard. He made a will on April 10, 1794 where he stated his daughters Tacy and Catherine were made executors, and the land was split for the two: Tacy got 56 acres of the upper part of the land while Catherine got 59 acres of the lower part.

In 1831, Tacy gave her land to her youngest son Charles Styer. 40 years later, his son Chalkley Styer (1826-1915) purchased 20 acres of his uncle Peter C. Evans (1799-1879).

Fast forward to the 1930s, the home was sold to Francis and Geneva Lieber with modern improvements.
