Gwynllan Farm- Blue Bell, PA

Updated: Sep 15, 2021

Everybody knows about the Merrymead Farm in Lansdale, but has anyone ever knew about a farm in Blue Bell? No.

I'm a fan of local foods, and I wish it stayed open so I don't have to travel to Merrymead to get their ice cream. But, the area still has a couple of farms locally owned (horse and cow farms mostly).

"...founded by Alexander Thayer in the 1920s. The large farm boasted a herd of dairy cows and also contained a dairy store where fresh farm products could be purchased, including the farm's own ice cream... The farm stood along Route 202, Dekalb Pike, north of Centre Square in Whitpain Township. Montgomery County Community College purchased the property in 1968." - Postcard History Series: Eastern Montgomery County Revisited

It's like a factory
I'm glad the Montgomery County Community College purchased the farm. The farm is currently used as a Fine Arts Center
It looks peaceful with its environment
